How Fun!

We had a wonderful weekend!

Friday night was pretty basic. We ate left over King Ranch Casserole (thank you, Mary, it was delicious!) and then decided to go through the Braum's drive through to get a shake for Trey and a frozen yogurt for me. Luke decided to cry and have a semi-melt down in his car seat. Hmm... I guess the ice cream was worth it, though. We've figured out that he has to be put to sleep before going in the car seat; he will not do it on his own. It's only taken us two car seat melt downs to figure this out.

Saturday we had visitors and a date night.

Patrick and Mari and their crew came to meet Luke.

The girls spent most of the visit like this.

Luke enjoyed Jack's funny faces.

Saturday night we went to dinner for Trey's birthday while my parents and Susan watched Luke at their house. I made reservations for us at Nick and Sam's Steakhouse. It was very good and the time spent together was even better. Luke did great at his grandparent's house. They said he was very well behaved and they'd watch him again which is great news for us!

Sunday, Mother's day, was a fun day too. It started off wonderfully with Luke sleeping from 10:15 to 4:45 Saturday night. I got a full five hours of blissful, wonderful, uninterrupted sleep! I think that was the best gift I could have received. Trey and I made waffles for breakfast and then took Luke to his first art festival, Cottonwood. It's a great small art festival held here in Richardson twice a year. We ended up buying two pieces that we couldn't pass up. The art festivals are a great way to collect original art work that doesn't cost thousands of dollars. We like the fact that they're interesting and not something that anyone could pick up at one of the thousands of Bed, Bath and Beyonds out there. Both artists we bought from were from Florida- I told Trey maybe that was a sign we're missing out on something there...
My mom and I met at a local nail salon in the afternoon to get pedicures. It was nice and relaxing and time well spent with mi madre.
We ended the day by going to my parents' house for broiled and fried shrimp. It was a great meal accompanied by these awesome cheddar biscuits, baked potato, and salad.

Mother's day flowers from Trey and Luke

My wonderful mom! She's my best friend and I love her!

My cute family. I love them, too! They make me happy :)
Parting shot: We caught Luke with a smile on his face!
