On My Head

I'm sharing this video because Luke is too darn cute in it. Please don't pay much attention to me (or my voice).

Scootin'

We officially have a scooter!

I think I'll be posting the official crawler video very soon!

Baptism

Luke was baptized on October 9, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Richardson by Dr. Oliphint.

It was a great day of celebration! All of his grandparents and aunt and uncles were there to support us, and it was a great day! I was excited for the day, not just because of the actual baptism, but because he got to wear his christening gown my mom made for him. Isn't she super talented?!? The fabric and lace came from her wedding dress and my mother-in-law's wedding dress. It's gorgeous and something that, hopefully, will be passed down to future generations. He did wear a dress, but he wore it well, and I think he looked wonderful in it! I'm so happy to have it. I'll always treasure it :)

Saturday night Trey cooked a delicious dinner for his family. We decided to get fancy and pull out the china. I mean, you need to use it, so why not with family? He outdid himself on the food, and he did it all himself. so proud :)

Sunday we all met for the service. Luke did great. He wasn't fussy at all during the baptism. I had to take him out of the sanctuary afterwards because he needed a bottle and didn't want it cold. The nursery workers were nice enough to heat it up from him.

My friend, Amy, who I grew up with had her daughter baptized at the service after ours. We were able to get this pic in, and it's pretty cute!

After church, we went to my parents' house for a Baptism Celebration lunch. There was also a small celebration for John and Hank's birthdays

It was very nice to have family here and spend time together. It had been a super stressful week, so I'm glad we could end it on such an uplifting note.

Video Fun 2

Here's the other video. I finally got it to work. Look at my prior post for video 1.

Luke's eating peas and carrots mixed together in this video. Yes, it looks disgusting. He hates peas, so I thought carrots might make them taste better. They do go together; they're even sold that way in a can. Plus, he likes carrots, so I figured it may hide the pea taste. I was wrong. I did figure out how he likes peas the next day- mixed with apples! Of course, why didn't I think of that earlier?

Video Fun

The blog has been ignored lately due to life getting in the way. I honestly haven't had the energy to sit down and work on it because our lives have been busy, busy lately.

I have two definite topics I'll blog about this week, but for now, I'll leave you with some videos that at least show Luke in all his glory. It pretty much sums up his recent days.

Video 1: He's moving around! I predict we'll have a crawler in just a couple of weeks. He's improved even more and constantly wants to practice. I'll try and get a video of it tomorrow. But for now, here you go.

Well, blogger is being annoying and won't let me upload the other video. I'll put it in the next post. once I can get it to work.

Six Months

Luke Henry Jackson is officially 6 months old!!

 Milestones:
  • I'll have his weight and height on Wednesday when we go to his doctor's appointment.
  • He now loves to give kisses with his mouth wide open.
  • He reaches up for you to hold him.
  • He can sit up all by himself and can even catch himself if he starts to fall.
  • Sleeping is still going well. He goes down at 6:30 pm and gets up around 6 am. He takes about three naps each day.
  • He's still eating oatmeal once a day, and we'll start solids after his doctor's appointment. (I have a few questions about that :))
  • He can still somewhat fit in his 3 month clothes, but is pretty solidly in the 6 month ones. He still only wears size 2 diapers.
  • He's been in childcare while I attend my MOPS meetings. It's only 3 hours, but he does well!
  • He took his longest road trip to Houston.
  • He's eaten a little mashed avocado which he loved! I think he'll be a good eater :)
  • He attended his first birthday part for his friend Jack.
  • He went to College Station for the first time!
  • We left him for eight and a half hours atmy parents' house, so we could attend the A&M game. That's the longest we've ever been away from him.
  • Of course, he got his first haircut which is already growing out in a noticeable way.
  • He survived his first 'illness'- a runny nose.
  • He's not crawling, but he can definitely move around on the rug and circle around to what he wants.
  • His favorite thing to do is reach for things that are just out of his reach. Favorites tend to be the remote control and the iphone.
Overall, he's become so much more fun! I still can't believe we've made it six months. In some ways, it's been the longest six months of my life, and in other ways it's flown by!! Now that he interacts with us, I can see how we have even more great days in store. I have a feeling he'll be on the move soon, so we're trying to enjoy our days of 'Stationary Luke' while we can!

Here are a few more pics from our photo session!

He's being a funny boy.

He loves to 'fly'.

How sweet! I love that face.

I think this is the first good picture Luke and I have taken together.

This is the outfit we bought when we found out he was a boy! Now, it's on him :)

Parting shot: He can take the bear down now!
